Portland, Oregon – The Portland Timbers win in convincing fashion with a 3-1 victory over FC Dallas on Sunday in the first leg of the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs Western Conference. Liam Ridgewell scored his first goal of the season in the 22nd minute and was able to perform the Ridgy Roll for the home crowd.
Dairon Asprilla started the 2nd half with the longest goal of the 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs to give the Portland Timbers a 2-0 lead. Timbers also received a very important 3rd goal in stoppage time from Nat Borchers to give them a 2 goal advantage going into the second leg of the Western Conference Playoffs.
The Timbers were in control the entire match, constantly pushing the ball the entire match. Now they must take this momentum and carry it with them down to Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas next Sunday. Winner moves onto the the MLS Cup final.
