The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired forward Maurice Harkless from the Orlando Magic in exchange for a 2020 second round draft pick (Protected from picks 31 through 55), it was announced today by President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey.
“We are excited to add Maurice to our talented core of young players,” said Olshey. “His best basketball days are ahead of him and we look forward to guiding his development.”
In 201 games (104 starts) over three seasons with Orlando, Harkless (6-9, 215) averaged 6.8 points (48.5% FG, 30.9% 3-PT, 57.7% FT), 3.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.08 steals in 22.9 minutes.
Originally selected by Philadelphia with the 15th overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, Harkless, 22, was traded to Orlando as part of a four-team trade prior to the start of his rookie season on August 10, 2012.
Harkless joins Damian Lillard (sixth) and Meyers Leonard (11th) as current Portland players who came out of the 2012 NBA Draft.
