Great sell out crowd for the Portland Timbers home & season opener.
The Timbers remain undefeated in their home opener however unfortunately they didn’t get the win. The Timbers start the season with a draw against Real Salt Lake. Even though the score reflects a draw this match was a one sided victory for the Timbers.
To start the second half, Rodney Wallas had two great chances to put the Timbers on the board, but Nick Rimando the goal keeper for Real Salt Lake was great this game. Rimando was a thorn in the Timbers side all night long.
The Timbers pushed all night long and you could sense that a score was coming and in stoppage time with a few seconds remaining the Timbers had two shots on goal but it just wasn’t in the cards.
The Timbers played a great game with energy all match long. They’ll need to keep that energy going for next Sunday night when the Los Angeles Galaxy come to town.
