Oregon Ducks Mariota named Pac-12 Player of the Week

Junior quarterback Marcus Mariota was named Pac-12 offensive player of the week Monday, two days after leading the second-ranked Ducks to a 46-27 win over then-No. 7 Michigan State.

Mariota completed 17 of 28 pass attempts for 318 yards and three touchdowns in the early bellwether matchup of top teams from two of the Big 5 power conferences. Oregon’s all-time leader in total offense also added 42 yards on the ground.

Through two games, Mariota has accounted for seven touchdowns with no turnovers. He’s fourth nationally in passer efficiency with a 208.21 rating, and tied for second with an average of 12.2 yards per pass attempt.
