Heart and Hustle Productions, in association with the Portland Thunder of the Arena Football League, announces the release of “Sons of Thunder”: an 8 episode sports documentary reality series on Comcast SportsNet NW. Local resident and former NFL, NCAA and HS coach Darrell “Mouse” Davis narrates the series. The series was created by Rashad Floyd, a former two sport Portland State University standout and former Arena Football Champion and All Star.
“I have a passion for creating platforms that provide an avenue that allows teams and players to tell their own story, So, when I heard Portland was receiving an AFL franchise, I wanted to produce a series that uniquely shares the culture of Portland with the rest of the world.” said Rashad Floyd, executive producer of the series. “My inspiration to transition from my football career to directing and producing features was to build a more relatable perspective between fans and professional athletes through organic and authentic cinematic storytelling.”
SYNOPSIS
SONS OF THUNDER is a reality sports documentary television series produced by Heart & Hustle Productions; airing on Comcast SportsNet NW. Our All-Access approach will expose viewers to the rigorous process of building a professional sports franchise, from the ground up. Two of the Thunder’s key drivers, Terry Emmert and Meadow Lemon, will introduce Portland, Oregon to the Arena Football League, while creating a loyal fan base, initiating and progressing through the grueling process of team selection and training camp, and preparing the SONS OF THUNDER for the first kick off of their inaugural season. Our audience will see, hear, and feel the grind, the politics, and the lifestyle through the eyes and ears of each of our athletes’ personal trials and triumphs, up to and including game day.
Through creative filming, engaging commentary, expert pre- and post production, and an organic blend of community and Arena Football League exposure, the stories of the SONS OF THUNDER will familiarize us with our athletes and edify our audience. As well, this series will build a bridge between the real lifestyles of our featured athletes and all those who have aspirations to pursue THIS dream.
This show is being created to not only expand the relationship between each character and the city of Portland, Oregon, it is aimed at branding the franchise in a way that unveils the team’s identity as a solid catalyst, aimed at positively impacting the lives of the audience, introducing the vision of Heart and Hustle Productions, and to show The Portland Thunder take the world by storm.
The series will premiere on July 22nd at 8pm on CSNNW. Heart and Hustle Productions will release a new episode every other Monday.
