PORTLAND, Ore. – The Thunder bolstered their wide receiving corps with the addition of former Oregon State University wideout Kevin Cummings.
“Kevin’s a fast receiver who was known for making big catches in college,” said Head Coach Matthew Sauk. “Again, it’s great to find these really talented players right here in the state. He’s the new guy, but I expect him to be a contributor this weekend in Cleveland.”
In three seasons at Oregon State, Cummings (6-1, 184) caught 53 passes for 627 yards and four touchdowns. In 2013, 15 of his 25 receptions went for first downs, earning his reputation as a clutch receiver. In late May, he signed with the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Eskimos – when the Eskimos had to cut players, the Thunder were ready to scoop him up.
Cummings will be available to play Saturday in Cleveland, where the 4-10 Thunder will take on the 13-1 Cleveland Gladiators in CBS Sports Network’s “NET10 Wireless Arena Football Saturday.” The game will take place at 3 p.m. PDT and will also be carried on 750 AM The Game.
